More coffee snobbery

One of the things that makes me laugh is the people who go into an espresso bar and order their coffee "extra hot". These people seem to think that there is something wrong with receiving a coffee that is not scalding, probably because they grew up on instant coffee where they added boiling water and then had to let it sit for 10 minutes.

Espresso, and especially lattes however, are not supposed to be super-heated. Both the coffee and the milk taste best when heated, but not over-heated. People who then order an extra hot espresso are essentially showing that they shouldn't even be drinking espresso. It's equivalent to ordering a well-done steak, a non-alcoholic beer or tofu-burger- it goes against the very essence of what you are ordering.
